Data Residency

This statement explains where your data lives and how it is governed. It complements our Privacy Policy and Security page.

1. Where your data is stored

Your account data and the information extracted from your credit report are stored on infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates. The credit report file you upload is never stored at all — it is held in memory only for as long as it takes to read it, and is never written to disk in any region.

2. When data crosses a border

We are direct with you about this: a small number of specialist providers we rely on operate outside the UAE, principally in the United States and the EU. The most significant is the AI processor that reads your report. Where that happens:

• Personal identifiers are stripped before the content leaves our systems, so the processor never receives your name, Emirates ID, or account numbers.
• Each provider is bound by a data-processing agreement and acts only on our instructions.
• Transfers rely on appropriate contractual safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
• Your documents are never used to train any AI model.

3. Compliance with UAE law

Our data-residency approach is designed with reference to the UAE's Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.

4. How your data is protected

• Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher) and at rest (AES-256).
• Personal identifiers are removed before your report is analysed.
• Access is role-based, logged, and limited on a least-privilege basis.

5. Retention and deletion

We retain your data only while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted from our systems, save for limited records we are legally required to keep — principally consent records, which are retained as proof of consent but detached from your identity so they no longer identify you.
